These Terms govern your relationship with the operator of the website available at shazam-au.com and any related review services referring to Shazam. By accessing or using the website, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the site. These Terms are effective from 1 January 2026 and replace all prior versions for Australian users.

Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms, the following expressions have the meanings set out below. These definitions apply whether used in singular or plural, and whether capitalised or not, unless the context clearly requires otherwise.

  • "Website" means the online service available at shazam-au.com, including all pages, subdomains, content, tools and features, which may include reviews and information relating to Shazam-branded gambling services, including Shazam.

  • "Account" means a user account created on the Website (if such functionality is offered) and/or any account created by a Player with a third-party gambling operator that is referenced on the Website. For clarity, accounts on external gambling sites are governed by the terms of those external operators.
  • "Bet" or "Wager" means any amount of money or monetary value staked by a Player in a game of chance, game of skill, or mixed game on a third-party gambling platform referenced by the Website, including but not limited to casino games, slots, table games, and live dealer products.

Account Registration

The Website may provide account-based features (for example, personalised preferences, newsletters or saved reviews). In addition, Users may choose to register an account directly with external Shazam-branded gambling operators referenced by the Website. This section addresses both contexts and sets out your responsibilities.

Eligibility and Age Requirements

  • Minimum age: You must be at least 18 years old to use the Website and to engage with any gambling-related content or third-party services to which it refers. By using the Website, you warrant that:
    • you are 18 years of age or older; and
    • you have full legal capacity to enter into binding agreements in your place of residence.
  • Australian legal context: Under the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (Cth), many forms of online gambling services offered to persons in Australia are prohibited unless specifically exempted or licensed. Shazam-branded online casino services associated with licence number 365/JAZ (sub-licence GLH-OCCHKTW0706152021 issued in Curaçao to Alistair Solutions N.V.) are not licensed in Australia and are identified by ACMA as operating in breach of Australian law. You must not rely on the Website to engage with Illegal Gambling Services.

Registration on the Website

  • Account creation: If the Website offers user registration, you may be required to provide your name, email address and a password. You must:
    • provide accurate, current and complete information; and
    • update your details promptly if they change.
  • Email verification: The Operator may require you to verify your email address by following an activation link sent to the email you provide. Your Website account will not be fully activated until verification is completed.
  • Password security: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your login credentials. You must:
    • keep your password secret and not disclose it to any third party;
    • use a strong, unique password; and
    • notify the Operator immediately at [email protected] if you suspect any unauthorised access or security breach.

Registration with Third-Party Gambling Operators (e.g., Shazam Casino)

  • Third-party terms: Any account you open with a third-party operator (including Shazam-branded casinos) is governed solely by that operator's own terms and conditions, privacy policy and rules. The Operator of shazam-au.com is not a party to that agreement and does not operate or control those gambling services.
  • KYC and verification: Third-party gambling operators may require you to complete "Know Your Customer" (KYC) checks, including providing identity documents, proof of address and payment method verification. You must follow their instructions and provide accurate information. Failure to do so may result in refusal of service, freezing of funds or account closure.
  • Compliance with Australian law: Because the referenced Shazam online casino is listed on the ACMA Blocked Sites Register as offering prohibited interactive gambling to Australians, you acknowledge and agree that:
    • you access such services (if you choose to do so) entirely at your own risk;
    • such access may be inconsistent with Australian law and regulatory guidance; and
    • the Operator of shazam-au.com does not encourage or facilitate illegal gambling and provides information for review and educational purposes only.

User Obligations

  • Accuracy of data: Whether you interact only with the Website or also with external gambling operators, you must ensure that all personal and payment information you provide is true, complete and not misleading.
  • One account policy (where applicable): You may not create multiple accounts on the Website for fraudulent or abusive purposes. Third-party operators may also limit you to one account per person, household, IP address or device, as set out in their own terms.
  • Legal use only: You agree not to use the Website or any referenced third-party service for any unlawful purpose, including but not limited to circumventing geographic, age or legal restrictions, money laundering, fraud or any other prohibited conduct.

Betting & Gameplay Rules

The Website itself does not provide gambling services. Any bets or gameplay occur on third-party platforms, such as Shazam-branded casinos licensed in Curaçao. This section summarises general principles that typically apply to betting and gameplay on those platforms and sets expectations regarding your conduct when engaging with such services via links or information provided on shazam-au.com.

Placing Bets and Wagers

  • Minimum and maximum stakes: Each game or product available on a third-party casino will specify minimum and maximum bet levels. You are responsible for checking and understanding these limits before you place a Bet. Bets placed within the displayed limits will be deemed accepted once confirmed by the third-party operator's system.
  • Types of bets: Depending on the game, you may place single bets, multiple bets, line bets or other specialised wagers (e.g., side bets in table games or bonus feature bets in slot games). The rules of each game, as provided by the external operator or software provider (such as RTG), shall govern:
    • how the Bet is placed and recorded;
    • the possible outcomes; and
    • the calculation of winnings and losses.
  • Bet confirmation: A Bet is typically considered valid once it is accepted by the external operator's server and a transaction ID or confirmation is generated. The Website has no technical capability to accept, reject or modify Bets.

Modification and Cancellation of Bets

  • Finality of wagers: Once a Bet has been confirmed by the external gambling operator, it is generally final and cannot be modified or cancelled by the Player. Some products (for example, cash-out features) may allow early settlement under specific conditions set by that operator.
  • Erroneous bets: In the case of obvious technical or pricing errors on a third-party platform, the external operator may:
    • void the Bet and refund the stake; or
    • settle the Bet at the correct odds or game configuration, as permitted by its own terms and licensing regulations.
    Any such actions are outside the control of the Operator of shazam-au.com.
  • System failures: If a system failure interrupts a game or Bet on an external casino, the rules of that casino and its software provider will normally determine whether the Bet is:
    • rolled back to the game state before the failure; or
    • settled according to the last recorded state.

Rules of Conduct in Live Casino and Chats

  • Respectful behaviour: When participating in any live casino, chat or social feature on third-party platforms referenced by the Website, you must:
    • treat dealers, staff and other players with respect;
    • avoid offensive, discriminatory, hateful, harassing or threatening language; and
    • refrain from spamming or disrupting chat functions.
  • Prohibition of fraud and collusion: You must not:
    • use automated systems, bots or software to gain an unfair advantage;
    • collude with other players, engage in chip-dumping or similar practices; or
    • exploit bugs, loopholes or errors in game software.
    External operators may void winnings, confiscate funds and close accounts in response to suspected fraudulent activity, in accordance with their terms and applicable law.
  • Compliance with local laws: You are solely responsible for ensuring that your participation in any gambling activities via links or information provided by shazam-au.com is lawful in your jurisdiction. For Users located in Australia, participation in Shazam-branded online casino offerings is identified by ACMA as involving Illegal Gambling Services and may contravene the Interactive Gambling Act.

Bonus Terms

The Website may describe or review bonuses offered by Shazam-branded or other third-party casinos. In some cases, the Website itself may offer exclusive bonus codes or promotional links. This section explains the general conditions that typically apply to such bonuses and how they should be interpreted, particularly for Australian Users.

Bonus Activation

  • Eligibility: Bonuses are usually available only to new Players or to specific segments (for example, returning customers, VIPs). Eligibility criteria, such as minimum deposit, geographic restrictions or bonus codes, will be determined solely by the external operator.
  • Activation process: To activate a bonus, you may be required to:
    • enter a valid bonus or coupon code at registration or deposit;
    • make a qualifying deposit that meets the minimum amount; and/or
    • select the bonus in the cashier or promotions section.
    If the Website displays bonus information, it is provided on an "as is" basis and may not always reflect real-time changes made by the external operator.
  • Time-limited offers: Many bonuses are available only for a limited period or must be activated within a defined timeframe (for example, within 7 days of registration). Always check the promotion's start and end dates on the external site. Any reference to promotional timeframes on Shazam is for guidance only and may not be current after 1 January 2026.

Wagering Requirements and Restrictions

  • Wagering (playthrough) requirements: Most bonuses are subject to wagering requirements, which specify the number of times the bonus amount (and sometimes deposit amount) must be wagered before withdrawal. For example, a 30x wagering requirement means you must place total bets equal to 30 times the bonus amount. The exact requirement is defined by the external operator's terms.
  • Contribution of games: Different games may contribute differently to wagering requirements. As a general guideline:
    • slots often contribute 100%;
    • table games and video poker may contribute at a lower percentage or be excluded; and
    • some jackpots or specialty games may not contribute at all.
    The external operator's bonus policy prevails in the event of any discrepancy with descriptions on shazam-au.com.
  • Timeframes: Bonuses usually must be wagered within a specific period (for example, 7 - 30 days) or they may be forfeited. If not explicitly stated on the external site, you should contact that operator's customer support for confirmation before wagering.

Prohibited Games and Actions

  • Game restrictions: Bonuses may not be used on certain games, including but not limited to progressive jackpots, live dealer games, low-risk betting patterns (such as betting on both red and black in roulette) or other excluded games. Use of bonus funds on prohibited games may result in:
    • voiding of associated winnings; and/or
    • removal of the bonus from your account.
  • Abusive patterns: External operators frequently define "bonus abuse" or "irregular play" to include:
    • placing very high bets relative to the bonus amount;
    • hedging bets or colluding with other players; and
    • using multiple accounts or identities to claim the same promotion more than once.
    Such behaviour may result in account closure by the external operator and forfeiture of funds.
  • Combining promotions: Unless explicitly allowed by the external operator, you may not combine multiple bonuses on the same deposit or game session. Some operators require completing wagering on one bonus before activating another. Explanations of stacking or combining promotions on Shazam are informational and do not override the external operator's rules.

Australian Legal and Risk Notice

Regional Compliance Note: For Users located in Australia, any reference to welcome bonuses, free spins or other incentives offered by Shazam-branded casinos licensed in Curaçao relates to services that are not licensed domestically and that have been identified by ACMA as contravening the Interactive Gambling Act. You acknowledge that:

  • these bonuses may be unavailable to Australian residents or may be lawfully unenforceable;
  • the Operator of shazam-au.com does not guarantee the availability, legality or fairness of such bonuses for Australian Players; and
  • you should not treat any such offers as lawful or risk-free opportunities to gamble in Australia.

Payments & Withdrawals

The Website itself does not process player deposits or withdrawals; it is a review and information service. Any financial transactions take place on third-party gambling platforms, such as Shazam-branded casinos operated under Curaçao licence 365/JAZ (sub-licence GLH-OCCHKTW0706152021). This section provides general information about such payment methods and associated risks for Users, particularly in Australia.

Deposit Methods

  • Common methods: External gambling operators may offer a range of deposit methods, which can include:
    • credit and debit cards (e.g., Visa, Mastercard);
    • e-wallets (e.g., Neteller, Skrill);
    • bank transfers or instant payment services; and
    • cryptocurrencies or other digital assets, where permitted by the operator's jurisdiction.
  • Availability for Australian Users: Due to ACMA enforcement and Australian financial institution policies, certain methods may be unavailable, declined or blocked when used to fund Illegal Gambling Services, including Shazam-branded casinos identified on the ACMA Blocked Sites Register.
  • Fees and currency conversion: Third-party operators and payment providers may charge transaction fees or apply currency conversion where your account currency differs from the gambling account currency. You are responsible for all such fees and any exchange-rate fluctuations.

Withdrawal Methods and Processing Times

  • Withdrawal channels: External operators determine which withdrawal options are available. Common methods include:
    • bank transfer;
    • withdrawal back to the original payment method (where allowed); and
    • withdrawal to e-wallets or crypto wallets.
  • Processing: Typical processing times can range from 24 hours to several business days, depending on:
    • completion of KYC verification;
    • internal security checks; and
    • the policies of your bank or payment provider.
    The Operator of shazam-au.com has no control over and makes no warranty regarding such processing times.
  • Limits: External operators frequently impose minimum and maximum withdrawal limits per transaction, day, week or month. Large withdrawals may be paid in instalments. Always consult the relevant terms on the external site.

Conditions, Refunds and Treatment of Bonuses

  • Verification requirements: Before a first withdrawal, or where fraud or irregular activity is suspected, a third-party operator may request additional verification documents. Failure to comply may result in delayed or refused withdrawals.
  • Refunds of deposits and bets: As gambling inherently involves risk, deposits and accepted Bets are generally non-refundable. In specific circumstances (for example, substantiated technical failure or regulatory breach), the external operator may, at its discretion or as required by law, refund some or all of the stake.
  • Bonus funds: Withdrawals of funds linked to bonuses are normally subject to completion of wagering requirements and other promotional conditions. If these conditions are not fulfilled within the stated timeframe, the bonus and any associated winnings may be forfeited. The Website does not have authority to approve or overturn such decisions.

Australian-Specific Risk Warning

Regional Compliance Note: Due to the status of Shazam-branded online casinos as Illegal Gambling Services under Australian law, Australian Users face heightened risks, including:

  • difficulty or impossibility of enforcing withdrawal rights against an offshore operator;
  • potential blocking of transactions by banks or payment providers; and
  • absence of Australian regulatory protections, compensation schemes or accessible dispute resolution mechanisms.

The Operator of shazam-au.com does not guarantee that any funds you deposit with, or request to withdraw from, a third-party operator will be processed, returned or made available to you.

Limitation of Liability

This section sets out the scope of the Operator's responsibilities in relation to the Website and limits the Operator's liability to the maximum extent permitted by Applicable Law, including in Australia. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any non-excludable statutory rights you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other mandatory legislation.

Operator's Obligations

  • Information accuracy: The Operator uses reasonable efforts to ensure that the Content on shazam-au.com, including reviews and information regarding Shazam-branded casinos and other gambling services, is accurate, balanced and up to date as at the time of publication. However:

  • Technical operation of the Website: The Operator endeavours to maintain the continuous availability and proper functioning of the Website but does not guarantee uninterrupted, secure or error-free operation.
  • Fairness of third-party gambling services: The Operator does not own, control or operate the underlying gambling platforms or software (such as RTG). Any assurances of fairness, randomness or game integrity are the responsibility of the external operators and their licensors, not of shazam-au.com.

Exclusions of Liability

  • No liability for third-party services: To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for any loss or damage arising from or in connection with:

    • any acts or omissions of such third-party operators, their employees or agents; or
    • any dispute between you and a third-party operator, payment provider or Dispute Resolution Service.
  • Technical failures: The Operator is not responsible for any:
    • interruption, delay or failure of the internet, telecommunications networks, hardware or software;
    • viruses, malware or other harmful components originating from third-party sites; or
    • loss or corruption of data or Content resulting from external events beyond the Operator's reasonable control.
  • Regulatory and legal risks: The Operator is not liable for any consequences of your decision to access or use Illegal Gambling Services, including those identified on the ACMA Blocked Sites Register, such as:
    • blocked access to websites;
    • frozen or confiscated funds; or
    • investigations or enforcement actions by authorities.

Limitation and Cap on Liability

  • Indirect and consequential loss: To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, loss of opportunity, loss of data or reputational harm, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Website or any linked service.
  • Maximum compensation: Where the Operator is found liable to you in connection with the Website, its Content or these Terms (whether in contract, tort, statute or otherwise), the total aggregate liability of the Operator shall not exceed, in the absence of non-excludable statutory rights:
    • the amount, if any, paid by you to the Operator for access to paid features of the Website in the three (3) months preceding the event giving rise to the claim; or
    • if no such fees have been paid, the equivalent of AUD 100.
    For clarity, the Operator has no liability for any amounts you stake or lose as Bets or Wagers on third-party gambling platforms.

Intellectual Property Rights

The Website and its Content are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws. This section explains how you may and may not use those materials.

  • Third-party rights: Trademarks, logos and brand names of Shazam, software providers (e.g., RTG) and other third parties are the property of their respective owners. Reference on the Website does not imply endorsement, partnership or licensing in Australia.

Permitted Use

  • Personal use only: You may access and use the Website and its Content solely for your personal, non-commercial information and evaluation purposes.
  • Limited licence: Subject to your compliance with these Terms, the Operator grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to:
    • view the Website in your browser;
    • print or download a reasonable number of pages for personal reference; and
    • share links to publicly accessible pages of the Website, provided that you do not misrepresent the nature of the Content.

Prohibited Use

  • No copying or redistribution: You must not, without the prior written consent of the Operator:
    • copy, reproduce, republish, upload, post, publicly display, transmit or distribute any Content from the Website in any form;
    • create derivative works based on the Website or its Content; or
    • systematically scrape, harvest or compile Content (including reviews and ratings) for use in a competing service.
  • No reverse engineering: You must not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble or otherwise attempt to derive source code from any software or systems associated with the Website, except to the extent expressly permitted by Applicable Law that cannot be contractually excluded.
  • IP infringement: If you believe that any Content on the Website infringes your intellectual property rights, you should contact the Operator at [email protected] with sufficient detail to enable assessment and response.

Privacy & Data Protection

The Operator is committed to handling your personal information in accordance with Applicable Law, including, where relevant, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. This section summarises how your data is treated.

  • Privacy Policy: All collection, use, storage and disclosure of personal information by the Operator is governed by the Website's Privacy Policy, as updated from time to time. • Types of data: The Website may collect:

  • Third-party links: When you access external gambling sites, including Shazam-branded casinos, their own privacy policies apply. The Operator is not responsible for the handling of your personal information by those third parties.

Changes to Terms

The Operator may amend these Terms periodically to reflect changes in law, regulatory guidance, the Website's functionality, or the Operator's business practices. This section explains how such changes will be communicated and your options if you disagree.

Procedure for Updating Terms

  • Publication of changes: Any updated Terms will be published on the Website with a revised "effective date" at the top of the document. The Operator may, but is not obliged to, retain access to previous versions of the Terms for reference.
  • Notification: Where changes are material, the Operator will use reasonable efforts to notify Users by one or more of the following methods:
    • displaying a prominent notice or banner on the Website;
    • sending an email to the address associated with your Website account (if applicable); or

Your Acceptance of Changes

  • Deemed acceptance: By continuing to access or use the Website after updated Terms have taken effect, you are deemed to accept and agree to be bound by those changes.
  • Right to discontinue use: If you do not agree with any updated Terms, your sole remedy is to:
    • stop using the Website; and
    • if you have an account, request closure of your account with the Operator.
  • Ongoing obligations: Any obligations or liabilities incurred by you or the Operator prior to the effective date of updated Terms will continue to be governed by the version of the Terms in force at the time those obligations arose.

Termination & Suspension

This section describes when and how your access to the Website or your Website account may be suspended or terminated, and what happens to any funds or benefits connected with such termination. For clarity, funds held with third-party gambling operators are not under the control of the Operator of shazam-au.com.

Termination by the User

  • Closing your Website account: You may request closure of your Website account (if such an account exists) at any time by contacting the Operator at [email protected] or by using any self-service account closure function provided on the Website.
  • Effect of termination: Upon closure:
    • you will lose access to any account-specific features, settings or saved data on the Website; and
    • the Operator may retain certain information as required or permitted by law, including records of consent, communications and technical logs.

Suspension and Termination by the Operator

  • Grounds for suspension/termination: The Operator may suspend or terminate your access to the Website, or close your Website account, at its discretion, particularly where:
    • you breach these Terms or the Privacy Policy;
    • you use the Website in a manner that is unlawful, fraudulent, abusive or harmful to other Users or to the Operator;
    • the Operator is required to do so by law, regulation or a competent authority; or
    • the Operator ceases providing the Website or specific features, in whole or in part.
  • Procedure: Where reasonably practicable, the Operator will:
    • provide prior notice of suspension or termination by email or on-site notification; and
    • specify the reasons for the action and any steps you may take to remedy the situation (for example, clarifying information or ceasing certain behaviour).
    However, in cases of serious breach, imminent security risk or suspected criminal activity, the Operator may suspend or terminate access immediately without prior notice.

Refunds and Funds on Termination

  • No custody of gambling funds: The Operator of shazam-au.com does not hold or manage player funds for gambling purposes. Accordingly:
    • no refund or withdrawal of gambling balances can be processed or guaranteed by the Operator; and
    • you must contact the relevant third-party gambling operator to resolve any issue involving deposits, withdrawals or account balances.
  • Paid Website services: If you have paid the Operator for any premium Website features, refunds (if any) upon termination will be handled in accordance with any specific service terms and Applicable Law. In general, prepaid fees are non-refundable except where required by non-excludable consumer rights.

Notification

  • Form of notice: Any notice of suspension or termination may be provided via:
    • email to the address associated with your Website account;
    • notifications within the Website interface; or
    • a combination of these methods.
  • Effect on these Terms: Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including, without limitation, provisions on intellectual property, limitation of liability, governing law and dispute resolution) will continue to apply after termination of your access to the Website.

Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This section explains the laws that govern these Terms and how disputes relating to the Website will be handled. It also clarifies the position of Australian Users and the relationship with offshore gambling regulation.

Applicable Law

  • Primary governing law: Unless expressly stated otherwise in any specific agreement you enter into with the Operator, these Terms and your use of the Website are governed by the laws of Curaçao, excluding any rules on conflict of laws that would result in the application of the laws of another jurisdiction.
  • Australian mandatory provisions: For Users located in Australia, certain mandatory provisions of Australian law (including the Australian Consumer Law and the Interactive Gambling Act 2001 (Cth)) may nevertheless apply irrespective of the choice of Curaçao law, to the extent they cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Dispute Resolution

  • Internal resolution: If you have a concern or dispute relating to the Website, you should first contact the Operator at [email protected] with a clear description of the issue, supporting evidence and your preferred outcome. The Operator will use reasonable efforts to respond within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Third-party gambling disputes: Disputes relating to funds, game outcomes or bonuses on Shazam-branded or other third-party casinos must be directed to those operators under their own dispute procedures. Some may refer disputes to independent bodies such as centraldisputes.com (Central Disputes System) in relation to RTG-powered platforms. The Operator of shazam-au.com is not a party to such disputes.
  • Courts and arbitration: Subject to any mandatory legal rights you may have:
    • any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms, the Website or the Content shall be submitted to the competent courts of Curaçao; and
    • the Operator and you may agree in writing to use arbitration or alternative dispute resolution procedures instead of court proceedings, on terms to be agreed at that time.

Australian Regulatory Context

  • ACMA and enforcement: The Australian Communications and Media Authority enforces the Interactive Gambling Act and may request blocking of illegal gambling websites. Shazam-branded casinos associated with Alistair Solutions N.V. have been identified by ACMA as breaching that Act and appear on the ACMA Blocked Sites Register.
  • No Australian licence: The Operator and the Shazam-branded online casino services discussed in Shazam are not licensed by any Australian state, territory or Commonwealth gambling regulator. Australian Players do not enjoy the same protections as they would when gambling with a locally licensed operator.
